mmmmm.

soo.... i'm starving right now in journalism. i kinda want to eat something really fattening and delicious.

something peanut buttery and chocolatey!
(i'm a fatty sometimes.)

i can't wait to get out of school and get something delish! :]]]] (that smiley's fat with lots of chins.)
this cupcake i found looks sooo good. someone make it for me?

i got a new job!

hey guys.

this week i found out i got a job i've been interviewed for twice now! a new restaurant just recently opened on eastridge road- gigi's italian eatery. I'm gonna be waitressing there! i'm a little nervous and anxious, but i'm hoping i'll be alright.

I've been working at the Brighton Restuarant (on east ave. near hess and across the street from the old record archive- yes, that restuarant that everyone drives past but anyone under the age of fifty never goes in) since May, and i feel like i'm ready to move up from bussing tables.

Waitressing's always looked kinda stressful and nerve racking to me so i'm nervous about being fast enough, getting the hang of everything, and being able to fulfill all its demands. i guess i can just try to do the best i can and see how it goes. gigi's hasn't completely opened yet so i won't be starting for maybe another two weeks or so, but i'm hoping since it's a pretty small place and with who seems to be like a really nice manager, it will be a good place to start. My brother got a bussing job there too. haha. we'll be working together most likely. but i'm really glad to be getting another job- i'm hoping to work weekdays and maybe a weekend night.

we'll see!
come in so i can wait on you sometime in the future! (it's across the street from irondequoit mall and next to the pizza hut in that plaza.)

maybe i'll give you a discount :]

Response to "Dubious New Models for News"

This article in Newsweek, written by Jacob Weisberg outlines the biggest obstacles the world of journalism faces today. He explains the debate over the most efficient way to inform the public and outlines the different viewpoints. With the expanding use of internet and online communication, many mixed feelings arise. Some people do not consider this a productive way to be informed, as information can be changed and altered by unofficial sources and not promoted enough. Weisberg understands that many companies are using this as a method as more and more people use the internet as a form of communication. He demonstrates that this presents unsimilar ideas and ethics to journalism. "The sorry predicament of the newspaper industry has given rise to a testy argument about journalism's future," Weisberg writes, involves what I am doing right now- informing and using the internet as a tool of communication. I can understand the different viewpoints that outline this issue, but I think the internet is an important and productive method, that I'm willing to use and support.

post 1: College

(i got into University at Buffalo!)
hey guys.

I got accepted into college! a letter came Saturday (finally!- i applied in the beginning of December) from Buffalo University. I'm really considering going. I haven't visited it in a few years, but I figured if I got in, i'd go back and take a look. I'm really excited. It's one of the suny university centers, so it's way bigger and has more opportunities than a lot of the other sunys. I like the distance from home that is since i'm far away enough to be on my own, but i'd be able to come home for a night or weekend. anyways, i'm excited! i'd like to do something in writing, and buffalo has a big english department. Also, the city's pretty big and there seems like there'd be a ton to do. I haven't heard about a lot of other people's college status/ plans for next year. let me know what you're doing :]
